Heeren Residential was founded with a simple belief: student housing can and should be better.

Before starting Heeren, we spent time speaking directly with students and starters in Salt Lake City, Orem and Provo, listening to their experiences and frustrations with accommodation. Across conversations, surveys, and informal interviews, the same themes kept coming up: homes that were poorly maintained, unclear expectations, slow communication, overcrowding, and a general feeling that student housing was treated as temporary or unimportant.

We also heard from parents who felt disconnected from the process and uncertain about who was responsible for their student’s living environment.

Heeren Residential was created in response to these problems.
​
Inspired by European residential standards, we develop and manage student homes that prioritize structure, quality, and calm. Our approach is hands-on and long-term: we focus on thoughtful layouts, durable materials, clear house standards, and professional management that is present and responsive.
Our goal is simple: to provide students with a comfortable, well-managed place to live, and parents with confidence in where their student calls home.

Message from the Founders

Heeren Residential was founded by two Dutch partners who experienced student housing across Europe and North America. Having lived in a wide range of student accommodations themselves, they saw firsthand how much better student living can be when it is designed with intention and managed with responsibility.

Moving to Utah, they recognized a familiar pattern: Students facing the same housing frustrations they had seen elsewhere, and parents looking for more clarity and reassurance.

Rather than accept this as
“just how student housing is,”
they decided to build something better.
Today, the founders remain closely involved in every residence Heeren manages.
Their European background influences the company’s focus on order, longevity, and stewardship, while their local presence in Utah ensures that every home is managed with care and accountability.
